Monday was a good day at work.
My house constantly has people coming and going! On Sunday we had a few new people move in (including my roommate). After work I met up with one of my new housemates to celerbate her first day of work. We grabbed gelato from Eataly and sat across from the Flatiron building. I felt a bit isolated when I first arrived so I have made it my little mission to warmly welcome any newcomers to NYC.
I then sat on my rooftop and watched as much of the sunset as possible. The views from the rooftop are indie film worthy. Even though the metro train runs right beside it and there are usually random polish men talking loudly to each other – the rooftop is a peaceful place.

Tuesday was a bit of a slow day. It was made better by calling one of my best friends in Canada. I am surprised that I don’t feel homesick at all (sorry fam) but as stated before I miss FRESH AIR. The humidity of the city is suffocating.
On one of my errands I saw the iconic GREEN LADY walking down the street! I would have gotten a selfie but I was in a bit of a rush.
On my way home I was able to check off one of my NYC bucket list items. What item you may ask? I finally saw my first subway rat! Most people wouldn’t be excited about this but it reminded me that I AM IN NEW YORK! I have a bad habit of overlooking the fact that I am living in the city that never sleeps, the big apple, Gotham etc. etc. When I walk down the streets I am no longer awestruck – I am too busy being annoyed at the tourists who are walking around awestruck… Does that make me a real New Yorker?

Wednesday morning we had our weekly workout. Guess who was the fastest runner? I’m not so sure that it’s good to compete with your manangers…
After work, I met up with some friends and went to SoHo, we ended up watching a Raptors game in a bar.

Thursday was the day of the label maker. Us Johnson girls LOVE being organized so I thought why not bring that to the office? Seven hours, one meticulous inventory excel spreadsheet, and two shocked managers later my work was complete. This picture only shows about 1/10th of the organization that I did. Was it what I came here for? No. Was it beyond satisfying to complete? Yes.

After work I met up with my visitors – my parents! That’s right my #1 fans took a roadtrip to see me. We dined at an italian restaurant in Brooklyn.

Friday went by extremely slowly at work.
After work, I hurried over to Central Park to meet up with mom & dad at the Loeb Boathouse. On my walk through the park, I had two amazing things happen. First, a little girl stopped me to hand me a flower – how adorable? Second, I saw a man with 5 beautiful golden doodle dogs – talk about goals.
A few drinks at the boathouse later, we headed over to a delicious Thai restaurant on the UES! We then took the Staten Island ferry to our Airbnb for the night. I am so lucky to have such supportive parents in my life!

Thanks for reading!
