First off, I want to say that I already LOVE my job. The team dynamic, the goal of the company, and the work itself are all amazing. I LOVE Paris. Moving here was so difficult and so stressful but I am so happy that I did it!
Monday was a fun day because we went to tour the venue for the global summit so that I could get a better understanding of the space. I cannot wait to transform the venue with the team! If you want to read more about the company/event here is a link: https://hello-tomorrow.org.

Tuesday was the day that I discovered the patio at work. We have a large enclosed balcony (with outlets!!) that is available to work in with plants and comfy chairs. Because the office is a co-working building, I do not have my own desk. Throughout the day I am constantly moving from place to place (for meetings).

Eva is still visiting me but she leaves tomorrow… it has been so fun to have a friend here with me.

So as you may know, there are strikes happening in Paris due to retirement reforms. This has hugely impacted what I can/can’t do in Paris. Luckily my airbnb is only a 30 minute walk to work! The strike looks as though it will never end…

One thing I wanted to mention is that the office tries to eat lunch together everyday to bond the team! So usually around 12:30 a group of us leaves the office, picks up some food (pays for the food with our company food card) then heads back to the office to eat together. The work environment is so amazing, I really want to stay here long term!

Friday was another super fun day. The event manager had a vision of creating videos with voiceovers reading “scientific poetry”. She wrote the scripts but needed people to read them and record their voices. Because the scripts are completely in english, they asked me if I wanted to go record my voice! So in the afternoon, I went with two team members to a recording studio to read voiceovers. It was actually more difficult than expected (especially because it was my first time seeing the script) but it was a success overall.

On Friday night I went out to dinner to a cool Italian restaurant that had live music. It was really fun because the songs were all French songs and people were singing along at their tables.
Thanks for reading!
Xoxo,
